Site Director - New Shared Services Center (SSC)
Job Description

As the Site Director, you will be responsible for leading the establishment and long-term success of a new Shared Services Center in Gdańsk. You will oversee the site's strategic direction, operational setup, and organizational growth while ensuring alignment with global business objectives. This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in building new operations, creating high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence in an international environment.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Lead the establishment and operational launch of the new Shared Services Center in Gdańsk.
• Develop and execute the site's strategy in line with the organization's global business objectives.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing leadership team and foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture.
• Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and growth of the SSC organization in partnership with HR and functional leaders.
• Ensure operational excellence by implementing best practices, standardized processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage the site's operational performance, including service delivery, quality, productivity, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate closely with global functional leaders to ensure alignment, governance, and successful service transitions.
• Lead business transformation and change management initiatives to support the SSC's growth and maturity.
• Establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including local authorities, universities, and business partners.
• Monitor performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement across all functions.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local regulations, and governance standards.
• Represent the SSC as the senior leader on-site and act as the key point of contact for local and global stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a Shared Services Center (SSC), Global Business Services (GBS), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), or multinational organization.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing and scaling new SSCs, GBS organizations, or other shared service operations from the ground up is essential.
• Strong background in leading large, cross-functional teams within an international environment.
• Experience managing organizational growth, business transformation, and change management initiatives.
• Strong commercial and operational mindset with a track record of delivering business results.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders across global organizations.
• Experience driving operational excellence, process standardization, and continuous improvement.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, resource planning, and performance management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
• Fluent English and Polish, both written and spoken.
