A day in the life of a Murphy Site Manager
- Assisting Murphy PM in matters relating to the Project with the Client and the Regulatory Authorities, and any other associated parties.
- Assisting Murphy PM Plan and deliver all work ensuring it is completed on time and to the agreed standard.
- Assisting Murphy PM to ensure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required.
- Weekly review of plant, labour and materials to ensure resources are in place and in line with forecasted expenditure.
- Production of time sheets
- Weekly Allocation sheets submitted to QS’s for review and issuing to Client.
- Plant List review completed every week and any queries issued .
- Liaise with the Project Manager to resolve any technical issues outside of the scope of works.
- Co-ordination and supervision of various Subcontractors in the performance of their assigned Scope of Work and for execution of work in a manner that this consistent with Project Quality requirements.
- Ensuring that prescribed Project requirements are properly implemented, controlled and effectively documented.
- Having knowledge of Project requirements and for requesting technical assistance and services from the Project Engineers as required.
- Liaison with the Client.
- Providing construction and technical assistance to Project Management.
- Ensuring all Construction Managers have the relevant information to carry out their duties.
- Control of Operation Procedures and Work Instructions to be implemented on the Project.
- Manage Sensible Monitoring Plans.
- Compliance with all responsibilities detailed in Construction Phase Plan, Project Quality Plan and Environmental Plan
- Attend Weekly Progress Meeting and produce report showing progress in the week and any potential issues with Photos

- Ideally with gas experience and or linear project knowledge.
- HNC Building Studies or a degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management.
- Experience in delivering Civil Engineering / Construction Schemes.
- Extensive background in site/contract management delivering contracts of similar value.
- Solid health and safety knowledge and will hold a health and safety related qualification
