Location: Mick George Contracting sites – which will vary across the country
Working Hours: Monday – Friday as per site requirements , Saturdays as and when required.
Pay: Dependent on experience.

Role Purpose
Reporting to the Contracts Manager and Operations Manager, Earthworks Division, this role takes full ownership of a live earthworks site, leading site supervisors, foremen, plant operators and subcontractors to deliver the programme safely, on time and to the required quality standards. As the operational lead and primary client contact, you will drive site performance, maintain high standards of safety and quality, and take responsibility for the successful delivery of your project from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of earthworks and soil stabilisation operations on site
- Leading Site Supervisors, foremen, operatives and subcontractors to meet programme targets safely
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with RAMS, specification, design tolerances and statutory requirements
- Managing site logistics, haul routes, access, material movements and work sequencing
- Maintaining accurate site records — diaries, allocation sheets, timesheets, GRNs and weekly progress reports
- Overseeing plant utilisation, inspections, maintenance and defect reporting
- Delivering quality assurance through testing, inspection and close-out of corrective actions
- Setting and enforcing health, safety and environmental standards, including inductions, toolbox talks and site inspections
- Acting as the operational point of contact for clients, engineers and subcontractors
- Supporting the Contracts Manager on NEC4 and JCT obligations, identifying early warnings, compensation events and variations as they arise
Skills & Qualifications Required
Essential
- Minimum five years in site management within earthworks or civil engineering
- SMSTS
- CSCS Black or Gold Card
- Sound working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, and of CDM 2015 duties
- Experience of managing directly employed site teams and subcontractors
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience of soil stabilisation using lime and cement binders
- Temporary Works Supervisor
- Working knowledge of NEC4 and JCT contract obligations
- Experience delivering as a subcontractor to tier one contractors
