Site / Project Engineer

Technical Oversight: Interpreting technical designs and drawings, providing technical advice and assist/learn how to resolve any issues that arise during construction.

Understand why site operations must comply with the Project Quality Plan, including quality, environmental and occupational health & safety.

Suggest proactive measures for issues relating to quality, environmental and occupational health & safety.

Review project specifications, technical clarification and construction drawings.

Quality and Safety Assurance: Learn by walking through with QAQC team for regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards and undergoing basic safety training with Safety team members.

Co-ordinate with QAQC Engineer to ensure quality performance of project to meet customer requirements.

Check for quality of work according to specification and requirement;

Maintain inspection records of works, materials and all completed works;

Reporting: Preparing site reports and presenting updates to stakeholder

Work with Project Manager and observe how to communciate with the Consultant Representative on project matters.

Learn to coordinate with Project Manager on the project matters.

Learn to coordinate with all Subcontractors on matters pertaining to site and quality issues;

Keeping track on variation and claims of contract and cost impact and feedback information to the Project Manager.

Contractual Requirements: Understand contractual requirements and check to see it complies with agreed procedures.

Check working drawing, identify discrepancies for resolution.

Cost Control: Consult with Project Manager to understand and implement measures to meet project budget.

Environment: To assist environmental aspects and impacts, and other environmental issues relating to EMS.

Continuous Learning: Evaluate project outcomes, capture lessons learned, and implement best practices to enhance future project execution.

Will normally work with a Site Manager with the same areas of work.

Execute, monitor and ensure the timely completion of the project

Liaise with the Consultant Representative on project matters.

Coordinate with Project Manager on the project matters.

Coordinate with all Subcontractors on matters pertaining to site and quality issues;

Ensure all contractual requirements are complied with agreed procedures.

Keeping track on variation and claims of contract and cost impact and feedback information to the Project Manager.

Implement cost control measures to meet project budget.

Skills:

Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware and software

Persistence, determination & ability to use own initiative to find solutions.

Be thorough and pay attention to details.

Good with numbers

Strong presentation skills

Excellent verbal communication skills & emotional Quotient a plus

Requirements:

BEng degree in Engineering, BArch degree Architecture / built environment or BSc Construction Management discipline or a similar field.

Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.

Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.

Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.

Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.

Degree in Civil / Building Engineering or other building-related disciplines

3-5 years' experience in building and construction projects
