Grow together
Timely delivery of DHL packages around the globe is only possible when our platforms earn the trust of every team that builds on them. As a Site Reliability Engineer in our DevOps & SRE (IPS) team, you will own reliability for the IPS platforms — IIP {Infrastructure Interface Platform}, IPP {Infrastructure Platform Portal - built on backstage} and our Crossplane-based capabilities — defining SLOs and error budgets and driving them into day-to-day operations.
Observability is your craft: you will wire OpenTelemetry instrumentation, build Grafana dashboards and tune Prometheus alerting so that incidents are detected early, correlated fast and resolved before users notice. You will also bring charge visibility (FinOps) and hardware control into the picture, keeping platform unit costs transparent.
For any issues related to platform reliability, incident response or gaps in observability coverage within the DHL Group environment, you are our go-to engineer. The same applies when it comes to proposing and governing changes to monitoring pipelines, alert quality and runbooks.
Last but not least, you will support DevOps ways of working across IIP, IPP, Crossplane, OPA and Argo CD, partnering with the CI/CD-focused SREs to keep the whole delivery chain reliable end to end.
Ready to embark on the journey? Here’s what we are looking for:
As a Site Reliability Engineer, having hands-on experience running production platforms with SLOs, error budgets and structured incident management is a huge plus. Very good knowledge of observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Prometheus) and Kubernetes-based platforms will also be an integral part of this role.
You are a technology aficionado, therefore you have a good understanding of GitOps and infrastructure-as-code (Git, Argo CD, Crossplane), policy-as-code (OPA, Kyverno) and FinOps practices for charge transparency. You are able to work independently, prioritize and organize your tasks under time and workload pressure. Working in a multinational environment, you can expect cross-region collaboration with teams around the globe, thus being advanced in spoken and written English will be certainly useful.
An array of benefits for you:
- Hybrid work arrangements to balance in-office collaboration and home flexibility.
- Outpatient (unlimited) and inpatient medical coverage for employees.
- Personalized flexi benefit plan for you and your family.
- Choose any day off from earned public holidays, including Saturdays and ad-hoc holidays to spend with your loved ones.
- Modern offices with free parking space.
Great Team
Hi, my name is Amitabh and I’m the Head of Infrastructure Platform Services (IPS). I started my career at DHL IT Services back in 2011, when I took a role as Manager of the Global Rating Engine team. Gaining more hands-on experience with Finance, Billing & Rating has always fascinated me, so I moved to the Head of Sub Domain, Rating & HR role. From there, I moved fast through the company ladder — Head of Domain, System Integration, Express Solution, and later ITS Solutions Consulting Director. In 2026, I took on my current role as Head of Infrastructure Platform Services. Together with the strong support of a multinational & diverse team, we are working on our common ambition — build right things and build things right for Private Cloud 2.0. Looking forward to having you onboard!
