Site Reliability Engineer I

We are looking for Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team, with an initial focus on production operations (AppOps). This role is ideal for early-career professionals who are passionate about cloud technologies, platform reliability, automation, and operational excellence.

As a member of the SRE team, you will support NCR Atleos Financial Services products and platforms by helping maintain the availability, performance, scalability, and security of production services. Working closely with development, infrastructure, security, and support teams, you will contribute to incident response, monitoring, automation, deployment activities, and continuous service improvement.

You will gain hands-on experience with modern DevOps and SRE practices, including cloud operations, observability, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and operational automation. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and embrace emerging technologies such as AIOps, intelligent automation, and agentic AI-driven operations, applying them to improve productivity, reduce operational toil, and strengthen service reliability.

Key Areas of Responsibility (or where we need your support):

  • Support production systems and cloud platforms to achieve reliability, performance, and availability objectives.
  • Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, service restoration, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts, operational tools, and self-service capabilities to reduce manual effort.
  • Assist with CI/CD pipeline maintenance and deployment automation initiatives.
  • Build and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and operational documentation.
  • Contribute to observability initiatives through metrics, logs, tracing, and service health monitoring.
  • Support implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management practices.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to identify opportunities for operational improvements and reliability enhancements.
  • Participate in on-call support and operational readiness activities.
  • Explore and contribute to AIOps, predictive monitoring, intelligent alert management, automated remediation, and agentic operational workflows that improve operational efficiency and engineer productivity.


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer sciences or related engineering stream.
  • 1+ years of experience in software engineering or DevOps area.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish.

IDEAL TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

  • Exposure to Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Linux administration and scripting using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
  • Exposure to observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, Azure Monitor, or similar.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, TLS/SSL, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
  • Interest in software engineering practices applied to operations and platform reliability.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical ideas clearly.
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies such as:
    • AIOps and intelligent operations
    • Agentic AI and workflow automation
    • Predictive monitoring and anomaly detection
