Site Services Engineer
I am currently recruiting for a Site Services Engineer on behalf of a leading organisation delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in electrical infrastructure, site operations, and maintenance activities to play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of complex projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting site-based engineering activities, coordinating contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining the integrity of electrical systems throughout installation, commissioning, and operational phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects from installation through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate and supervise site activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Carry out inspections, testing, and fault-finding on electrical systems and associated equipment.
- Review technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, clients, and operational teams to ensure effective communication and project progress.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Assist with commissioning activities, system energisation, and operational readiness reviews.
- Identify and resolve technical issues that may impact programme delivery or system performance.
- Prepare technical reports, site records, risk assessments, and method statements as required.
- Support maintenance activities and provide engineering expertise during planned and reactive works.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant industry regulations, standards, and company procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience working within electrical infrastructure environments.
- HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, protection systems, cabling, and associated infrastructure.
- Experience coordinating site-based engineering and contractor activities.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, and commissioning documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant UK electrical standards and health & safety legislation.
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
