Site Superintendent
Summary
Oversee on-site civil and geotechnical construction activities, including deep excavation and foundation works, while managing teams and ensuring safety and quality compliance.
Job Duties
- Assist the Construction Manager in planning, coordinating, and scheduling manpower, equipment, and construction activities.
- Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and delivered on time while meeting quality standards.
- Supervise site personnel and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors to identify and fulfill project requirements.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, and resource utilization, and provide regular progress updates to the Construction Manager.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve site operational issues, technical challenges, and emergency situations.
- Oversee foundation, deep excavation, and geotechnical construction activities, including Hydrofraise operations where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil, infrastructure, geotechnical, underground, or foundation construction projects.
- Proven experience in managing complex foundation and retaining structure works, including Diaphragm Walls, Hydrofraise construction, CFA Piles, Bored Piles, and deep excavation works.
- Strong knowledge of Hydrofraise techniques, heavy excavator operations, and other specialized equipment used in foundation and geotechnical projects.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and site coordination requirements.
- Proven ability to lead site teams, supervise multiple subcontractors, and manage site operations effectively.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
