SMP Designer/Drafter (On-Site, Morning Shift)

Roles and Responsibilities
- Create detailed Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) designs and complete fabrication drawing packages.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, including AS 1657, AS 3990, AS 4100, and AS 4140.
- Develop 3D models, general arrangement drawings, and set-out drawings using Autodesk Inventor, preferably.
- Develop as-built models of structures and equipment using 3D laser scanning data.
- Assist with processing, registering, and preparing 3D laser scanning data for design and modelling projects.
- Assist in preparing project cost estimates and timeframes.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other design professionals to deliver accurate and timely project outcomes.
- Mentor and support junior designers and drafters.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in SMP design projects.
- Previous experience working on Australian projects is essential.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, including AS 1657, AS 3990, AS 4100, and AS 4140.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- A Successful Candidate Must Have
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate designs within strict deadlines.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficient With
- Autodesk Inventor (highly preferred).
- Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience Advantage
- Experience in any of the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Manufacturing or process plant design.
- Mechanical and structural detailed design.
- Process and piping design.
- Concrete design and detailing.
- Bulk materials handling design.
- 3D laser scanning data processing.
