SNAP Implementation & Oversight Director
This position is designated as SES, Career-Reserved. USDA structures its SES positions into position levels. This is a position level I with a salary range of $192,332 - $204,121 per year. Exceptions to the salary cap may be considered in certain circumstances. SES employees are also eligible to receive bonuses and performance-based awards. Provides executive leadership and oversight for national SNAP program operations, including policy execution, program integrity, workload management, and strategic initiatives.
Guides implementation and oversight of SNAP across the Agency, including improper payment monitoring, State administrative integrity efforts, Employment and Training program oversight, and disaster response activities.
Directs SNAP Implementation and Oversight staff and subordinate divisions, setting organizational vision, priorities, and resource allocation strategies to achieve program objectives.
Develops and recommends short- and long-term program goals, procedures, and regulatory changes aligned with statute, USDA policy, and emerging national needs.
Evaluates national program performance using data from studies, surveys, and reports to identify issues, ensure program integrity, and propose regulatory modifications.
Leads national program response to unanticipated events (e.g., natural disasters, public health emergencies), ensuring timely and compliant program adjustments.
Oversees State agency monitoring, provides technical assistance and training, and responds to audits and external reviews to support effective Federal–State partnership administration.
Represents FNA in engagements with Federal agencies, State and local governments, non-profits, advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders to communicate program priorities and maintain collaborative relationships.
