SNAS Implementation & Oversight Director
This position is designated as SES, Career-Reserved. USDA structures its SES positions into position levels. This is a position level I with a salary range of $192,332-$204,121 per year. Exceptions to the salary cap may be considered in certain circumstances. SES employees are also eligible to receive bonuses and performance-based awards. Provides executive leadership and oversight for all SNAS program operations, including policy implementation, workload management, strategic initiatives, partnerships, and outreach.
Guides administration of major SNAS nutrition assistance programs—USDA Foods in Schools, CSFP, TEFAP, FDPIR, WIC, FMNP, and SFMNP—ensuring compliance, effective service delivery, and strong support to State and local partners.
Leads the Implementation and Oversight organization, shaping vision and priorities for units overseeing policy implementation, nutrition education, food distribution, technology systems, data analysis, and program integrity.
Develops and recommends national program goals, long-range strategies, consistent with statute, USDA directives, and emerging operational needs.
Provides leadership and guidance to FNA components and State agencies through policy instructions, procedures, technical assistance, training, and oversight of program administration.
Evaluates program performance and integrity by analyzing studies, surveys, audits, and program data to identify issues and recommend policy, regulatory, or operational improvements.
Leads national program responses to emergencies—including natural disasters and public health events—requiring rapid program changes consistent with Congressional and Administration direction.
Represents FNA with Federal agencies, State and local governments, non-profits, advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders to communicate SNAS priorities, build partnerships, and strengthen program outcomes.
