Snow Salt Truck Driver

Job Overview: Southview Design is seeking a Snow Salt Truck Operator to join our team for the snow season! The Snow Salt Truck Operator position is responsible for applying de-icing materials to properties in a safe and efficient manner while exceeding customer expectations in quality and service. Position is on call, hours and schedule may vary.

Duties:

• Communicate with Business Manager, Operation Managers, Zone Coordinators, and others to ensure a high level of communication, exceptional quality standards, and efficient job performance is consistently met.
• Ensure administrative tasks (i.e. inventory control, time entry, DOT pre-trip, etc.) are completed promptly and accurately.
• Ensure all tasks are being done following the company’s procedures, safety, and personnel policies.
• Salt Truck Operator is responsible for salt applications across the client portfolio.
• Ability to drive a salt truck and operate salter.
• Follow instructions from Zone Coordinator and Area Supervisor, meet deadlines, and maintain the schedule assigned.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, wth responsibilities and tasks subject to change as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Qualifications: Prior experience of equipment operation. Strong effective communication skills. Time management skills. Must have a valid driver’s license, and an insurable driving record.
• Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday.
• Work Environment: Exposed to exterior elements (i.e., pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). External environment with all weather and terrain exposure.
• Schedule: Due to the unpredictability of the winter weather, scheduling is on call. Expectation of availability for the winter weather is 24/7 on-call work. This includes weekends, holidays, overnights, etc.
