Description
As a Snowflake Data Architect, you will lead the migration of a financial services client from Markit EDM to Snowflake, working onsite in Geneva on a two- to three-month fixed-term assignment. Beyond the migration, you will build a data platform that can scale to enterprise-wide use. Your technical choices will shape how the platform supports new use cases as the business grows. You will also coach client teams so they can run and evolve the platform after the assignment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the subject-matter expert, architect and lead engineer for the client
- Design the target architecture, including account and environment strategy
- Define security, role-based access control (RBAC) and cost governance
- Set up environments, CI/CD pipelines and coding standards
- Define the dbt project structure, data model and transformation layers
- Lead the technical design and execution of the Markit EDM to Snowflake migration
- Build foundations that support use cases beyond the migration
- Coach client teams on best practices to drive adoption
- Hand over documentation and runbooks at the end of the assignment
Requirements
- Proven track record designing enterprise data platforms as a data solution architect
- Deep, hands-on expertise setting up Snowflake environments from scratch
- Strong hands-on experience structuring dbt projects, data models and deployment pipelines
- Ability to work hands-on as both architect and lead engineer
- Confidence advising and working alongside client stakeholders
- Availability to start in November 2026 and work onsite in Geneva for two to three months
- Fluent English
Nice to have
- Experience with Markit EDM, ideally migrating away from it
- Background in asset management or other financial services
- SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced: Architect certification
- Professional working proficiency in French
