Position Overview

The Social Media & Content Specialist is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing content across multiple digital and social media platforms. This mid-level role combines content creation, social media management, analytics, and strategic collaboration to support marketing objectives, strengthen brand awareness, and protect the organization’s online reputation. The role requires a balance of creative execution and data-driven decision-making.


Key Responsibilities


Content Development & Creative Execution

  • Develop high-quality written copy tailored to platform-specific audiences and aligned with brand voice and messaging
  • Produce engaging multimedia content, including images, short-form video, and visual assets for social media and digital campaigns
  • Design and edit graphics using approved tools and templates to support content and campaign needs
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand standards, accessibility guidelines, and quality expectations


Social Media Channel Management

  • Manage, schedule, and publish content across multiple social media platforms
  • Maintain editorial calendars and ensure consistent, timely execution of campaigns and posts
  • Monitor social media activity, engage with audiences as appropriate, and escalate issues following established guidelines
  • Support online reputation management through proactive monitoring and response coordination

Strategy, Performance & Analytics

  • Track, analyze, and report on content and campaign performance using platform analytics and reporting tools
  • Identify trends, audience insights, and high-performing content to inform ongoing optimization
  • Make real-time adjustments to content and messaging based on performance data and emerging trends
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to marketing stakeholder


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with team to support business goals and campaign initiatives
  • Contribute to content and social media strategy discussions and planning sessions
  • Align social content with broader marketing, brand, and communications strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent experience desireable
  • Demonstrated experience writing professional, engaging copy for digital audiences
  • Working knowledge of social media management, scheduling, and analytics tools
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
