Social Media & Community Executive (6-month contract)

Content Planning & Production

  • Plan and manage the daily content calendar across three content engines of brand content, user-generated content, and community engagement. They include a mix of short reels, community posts, and user-shared stories

  • Produce same-day or next-day content reacting to trending cultural moments and viral posts, keeping Carousell part of the conversation and positioned as an engaging, forward-thinking marketplace

  • Write scripts and plan copy for turning new features into exciting news and clear benefits for users, helping people get the most out of Carousell, and featuring real community stories

  • Shoot and edit reels/short-form video, and design graphics, well-versed in AI tools to produce content at scale. Publish content and manage the posting schedule across channels

UGC Management

  • Source and verify genuine positive user experiences

  • Partner with content creators and run creative ways to encourage users to share their own experiences. Manage usage rights and incentives

Community & Social Sentiment Management, Routing (Core Responsibility - Item C)

  • Actively monitor community and social discussions, comments, and mentions across FB/IG/Xiaohongshu/Reddit/Threads/LIHKG

  • Identify and respond to general user questions or misunderstandings, guiding users to the right support channels or directing users to the right resources. Route issues that need follow-up to the right internal teams

  • Build and maintain automated triage workflows to route incoming comments/mentions based on priority and urgency

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Track social media and community sentiment, content performance

  • Compile regular weekly/monthly reports to inform campaign steering

  • 1-3 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or community management; agency or brand-side experience a plus

  • Proficient across multiple content formats including short-form video, graphic design, and copywriting, with the ability to create, shoot and edit using a smartphone and accessible tools (e.g., CapCut, Canva); proficient in using AI-assisted tools to maintain a high-output, fast-turnaround content schedule

  • Comfortable appearing on camera as part of content production

  • Strong interest in content creation, with an outgoing and proactive disposition; willing to approach users for feature opportunities and unfazed by declined requests. Familiar with KOL/KOC or UGC recruitment.

  • Fluent in Cantonese and Traditional Chinese writing, with the ability to independently produce post copy and community responses; good English writing skills an advantage

  • Familiar with Hong Kong's social media landscape, including community norms on platforms such as Reddit, LIHKG, and Threads

  • Working knowledge of social listening and sentiment analysis; able to handle sensitive or negative user feedback with patience and care; experience in brand trust/crisis communication a plus

  • Strong project management and time management skills, with the ability to independently manage a high-output content calendar

  • Understanding of e-commerce / secondhand marketplace ecosystems a plus

  • Available to commit to 4~5 days of work per week for 6 months
