Social Media & Content Coordinator

Part-Time Independent Contractor | San Pedro Sula, Honduras

About Mentors CX

Mentors CX is a customer experience mentorship platform and professional community. We connect professionals and businesses with experienced CX leaders who can provide practical guidance, fresh perspectives, and support through one-on-one mentorship.

We are a small, ambitious team building a trusted global brand around mentorship, professional growth, community, and better customer experiences.

The opportunity

We are looking for a creative, organized, and proactive Social Media & Content Coordinator based in San Pedro Sula to help bring the Mentors CX brand to life across LinkedIn and Instagram.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role. You will help turn company updates, mentor insights, articles, events, videos, and ideas from our team into clear and engaging social media content.

You will work directly with the founder of Mentors CX. You should be comfortable receiving direction, but we also want someone who brings ideas, identifies opportunities, and makes thoughtful recommendations rather than simply waiting for instructions.

The engagement will be either 10 or 15 hours per week, depending on the availability and commitment agreed upon before the start date.

The role is primarily remote, but applicants must live in San Pedro Sula and be available for occasional in-person content sessions, events, or meetings when needed.

What you will do

Content planning and coordination

  • Help create and maintain a weekly and monthly social media content calendar.
  • Organize upcoming posts, deadlines, assets, approvals, and publishing dates.
  • Turn Mentors CX initiatives and priorities into a consistent content narrative.
  • Recommend relevant content ideas based on platform trends and community interests.

Copywriting and content creation

  • Write and edit English-language posts for LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Adapt ideas for the style and audience of each platform rather than posting exactly the same content everywhere.
  • Repurpose blog articles, videos, mentor insights, events, and company updates into social content.
  • Create simple graphics, carousels, stories, reels, and other lightweight assets.
  • Edit short-form video using CapCut, Canva, or a similar tool.
  • Maintain clear grammar, tone, formatting, and editorial quality.

Publishing and community engagement

  • Schedule and publish approved content consistently.
  • Support engagement through relevant comments and community interaction.
  • Help identify conversations, creators, mentors, and organizations with which Mentors CX should engage.
  • Monitor basic messages and comments and escalate anything requiring a response from the founder or another team member.

Performance and reporting

  • Track basic performance metrics such as reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth, clicks, and top-performing content.
  • Provide a short weekly summary of completed work, published content, and upcoming priorities.
  • Share observations about what is working, what is not working, and what we should test next.
  • Keep content files, drafts, links, and assets organized.

What success looks like

  • Mentors CX publishes consistently across LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Content is thoughtful, useful, accurate, and aligned with the brand.
  • English copy feels natural and human rather than generic or overly automated.
  • Content deadlines and publishing commitments are met.
  • Articles, videos, events, and company activities are repurposed efficiently.
  • Performance insights lead to better content decisions over time.
  • You proactively bring ideas and communicate when something is unclear or could be improved.

Requirements

  • You currently live in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
  • You can commit to either 10 or 15 hours per week.
  • You have strong written English and can confidently write and edit social media content in English.
  • You understand how content should differ between LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • You have experience using Canva or another accessible design platform.
  • You have basic short-form video editing skills using CapCut, Canva, Adobe Express, or a similar tool.
  • You can share examples of social media posts, graphics, videos, personal projects, freelance work, volunteer work, or other relevant content you have created.
  • You have a reliable computer, internet connection, and smartphone.
  • You are organized, dependable, receptive to feedback, and capable of managing deadlines independently.
  • You communicate proactively when you need context, feedback, or clarification.

A university degree is not required. We care more about your communication skills, judgment, reliability, creativity, and the quality of your work.

Nice to have

  • Experience managing a company or professional brand on social media.
  • Familiarity with customer experience, customer support, startups, technology, professional communities, or online education.
  • Experience creating LinkedIn carousels or Instagram reels.
  • Basic photography or in-person content-capture experience.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics or scheduling platforms.
  • Fluent or professional Spanish in addition to English.

Compensation and engagement terms

  • Compensation: USD $4 per hour.
  • 10-hour weekly commitment: approximately USD $172 per month.
  • 15-hour weekly commitment: approximately USD $258 per month.
  • Final weekly capacity will be agreed upon before the engagement begins.
  • Payment will be made monthly based on hours worked and invoiced (through PayPal).
  • The initial engagement is expected to last three months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance, business needs, and mutual agreement.
  • This is an independent-contractor engagement and does not include employee benefits.
  • The contractor will retain flexibility over when the work is completed, provided that agreed-upon responsibilities, deadlines, meetings, and publishing schedules are met.
  • Hours beyond the agreed weekly commitment must be approved in advance.

Monthly amounts are estimates and may vary slightly depending on the number of weeks and approved hours within each calendar month.

How to apply

Please submit:

  • Your résumé or a summary of your relevant experience.
  • A portfolio or links to at least two examples of content you have created.
  • A short cover letter written in English answering the following questions:
  1. Why are you interested in working with Mentors CX?
  2. Do you currently live in San Pedro Sula?
  3. Would you prefer a 10-hour or 15-hour weekly commitment?
  4. Which social media platforms and content-creation tools have you used?
  5. Please share one example of a piece of content you are proud of and explain your role in creating it.
  6. What is your earliest potential start date?

Applications without relevant content examples may not be considered.

Mentors CX welcomes applicants from different educational and professional backgrounds. Selection will be based on skills, work quality, communication, availability, and alignment with the responsibilities of the role.
