Role Intent
The Social Media Executive is responsible for the daily, accurate, and disciplined execution of social media activity for assigned brands and outlets, including post-publishing optimisation and complete community responsiveness.
This role exists to ensure that approved content is:
Published on time
Presented correctly
Actively supported after posting to maximise visibility and engagement
Fully responded to across comments and messages
The Social Media Executive does not create strategy or creative direction.
They execute what is planned by Brand Managers, Copy, and Creative teams and ensure that social platforms remain active, responsive, and well-managed at all times.
Social media is the most visible daily brand touchpoint.
This role ensures that execution quality, optimisation, and responsiveness consistently protect and enhance brand perception.
What This Role Is Responsible For
1. Daily Posting & Execution
Publish approved posts, reels, and stories on schedule
Ensure captions, tags, locations, hashtags, mentions, and credits are accurate
Follow posting schedules independently
Flag missing assets or approvals early
2. Post-Publishing Optimisation (SMO)
Apply correct hashtags, location tags, and account tags
Share feed posts to stories where relevant
Engage with early comments to improve reach
Monitor performance during the first 24 hours
Take corrective actions when approved:
Pinning comments
Updating captions
Re-sharing posts to stories
3. Stories & Real-Time Updates
Post daily stories aligned with approved plans
Support feed posts through stories
Share live updates during events, weekends, and promotions
Ensure stories feel active, current, and intentional
4. Community Management (Non-Negotiable)
Reply to all comments and messages across social platforms
Monitor comments, DMs, mentions, and tags throughout the day
Respond using approved tone and brand guidelines
Escalate complaints, sensitive feedback, or operational issues immediately
Track recurring guest questions, confusion, or feedback themes
5. Platform Hygiene
Maintain profile hygiene:

Highlights
Location tags
Links
Remove outdated information promptly
Flag required updates to the Brand Manager
6. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate daily with Brand Managers on priorities
Work with copy and creative teams on final assets
Share daily or weekly execution updates
Report unusual drops, spikes, or issues early
