Social Media Intern 2026-2027
Social Media Intern
We’re looking for a creative, hands-on and social-media-savvy intern to join our Marketing team.
If you enjoy creating content, filming videos, editing Reels and keeping up with social media trends, this role will give you plenty of opportunities to bring ideas to life and see your work go live across our channels.
You’ll work closely with the Marketing team to create engaging content that reflects the Write Edge brand and connects with parents, students and our wider community.
Responsibilities
Social Media Content
- Support the planning and creation of content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other relevant social media platforms.
- Create social media graphics and creatives using Canva.
- Write and adapt captions and social media copy.
- Keep up with social media trends and suggest relevant content ideas.
- Support the scheduling and posting of social media content.
Filming & Video Editing
- Film short-form content featuring students, teachers, programmes, events and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Edit Reels and short-form videos using CapCut, Canva or similar tools.
- Adapt existing footage into engaging social media content.
- Help develop simple concepts, hooks and storyboards for video content.
Marketing Support
- Support the Marketing team with campaign creatives and ad materials.
- Assist with content shoots, events and marketing activities where required.
- Adapt existing design templates and marketing materials for different campaigns.
- Support other day-to-day marketing projects and initiatives.
What You’ll Gain
- Create real work for a live brand from Reels and social posts to campaign creatives.
- Build your portfolio with content that actually goes live.
- Be part of marketing strategy discussions and see how campaigns, budgets and priorities are decided.
- Learn what makes content perform through real campaign and audience insights.
- Get exposure beyond social media to paid ads, brand campaigns and regional marketing.
- Contribute your own ideas and work closely with the Marketing team.
You’ll get exposure to both the creative and strategic side of marketing, not just execution.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Marketing, Communications, Media, Design or a related field.
- Very comfortable using Canva.
- Basic video editing skills using CapCut, Canva or similar tools.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Premiere Pro, would be a strong advantage.
- Comfortable filming content using a phone or camera.
- Familiar with Instagram, TikTok and current social media formats and trends.
- Good written communication skills.
- Creative and willing to contribute ideas.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.
Experience with photography, graphic design, content creation or managing social media accounts is a plus, but not required.
You’ll Enjoy This Role If You…
- Spend a little too much time on Instagram or TikTok “for research”.
- Naturally notice trends, hooks, edits and content ideas.
- Enjoy turning an idea into something people actually want to watch.
- Are comfortable experimenting, learning and trying different creative approaches.
- Want hands-on experience rather than just observing from the sidelines.
