The Role
Want to help shape the social voice of some of New Zealand’s most loved brands?

Sanitarium is looking for an experienced Social Media Specialist to help bring brands like Weet-Bix, Up & Go, So Good and Alternative Dairy Co to life across TikTok, Meta, creator partnerships and cultural moments. This is a social-first brand-building role that combines creativity, culture, creators and performance.

Working closely with the Social Media Manager, internal brand teams, creative partners and external agencies, you will help shape how our brands show up in culture by:

Turning brand strategies into scroll-stopping social ideas across our brands, campaigns and events.
Spotting cultural moments and translating them into brand-relevant content.
Championing platform-first creative across TikTok, Meta and emerging social channels.
Creating culturally relevant social content that builds reach, engagement and brand love.
Growing engaged brand communities through content, conversation and smart community management.
Shaping creator and influencer partnerships that feel authentic, effective and on-brand.
Optimising paid social performance using Meta and TikTok Ads Manager to deliver cost-effective reach, engagement and registrations.
Using insights, dashboard reporting and post-campaign analysis to sharpen performance and inspire what comes next.
Briefing creative teams, influencers and content creators with clarity and confidence.
Partnering with brand teams to ensure content meets nutrition, regulatory and brand requirements.
Writing clear, engaging copy tailored to different brands, audiences and platforms.
Managing allocated social media budgets and supporting smart production-spend decisions.
Delivering monthly and quarterly performance reporting against agreed strategies.

About you
You know what makes people stop, share, comment and care — and you can translate that instinct into culture relevant, brand-safe, measurable social activity.

You will bring:

At least three years’ experience managing digital communications and social media activity.
Proven experience delivering social campaigns from planning through to execution and reporting.
Strong capability in digital media buying, campaign optimisation and performance benchmarking.
Expertise in Meta Ads Manager, Instagram, TikTok and influencer engagement.
Experience using social media metrics and research to demonstrate campaign performance and return on investment.
Strong copywriting, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
An understanding of how social media connects with activations, public relations and broader marketing campaigns.
A degree in Digital Marketing, Marketing or Communications is strongly preferred.
