Toyon is seeking a Software and Embedded Systems Engineer with a background in embedded systems and software design that will be applied to a variety of systems involving electronic warfare, navigation, and RF sensor processing. An ideal candidate will have excellent thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to rapidly prototype embedded systems in state-of-the-art testbeds, using mixtures of FPGAs, SoCs, and other embedded processors. Essential skills include a solid understanding of physics and mathematics, the ability to understand analog and digital communication theory, to perform modeling of candidate system designs, and to design and implement algorithms and software for embedded systems involving different sensor modalities. An ideal candidate will have excellent thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C/C++ and Python

• Design and implement hardware interfaces for sensors, actuators, and other peripherals

• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and system-level testing of embedded software

• Participate in technical reviews and collaborate with other engineers to ensure overall system integration

• Prepare technical documentation, including requirements specifications, design documents, and test plans
