Salary: $4,800 – $5,800 per month

About the role

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for supporting software applications, troubleshooting production issues reported by end users, and resolving application incidents during agreed SLA timeframes. The engineer will work independently with minimal supervision and must be able to work in shifts to provide 24/7 support onsite.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide software application support, troubleshooting and bug fixing related to the maintained Software Applications

  • Involve in implementation of application enhancements as and when required

  • Communicate with end users, customer's IT team and support engineers from other application vendors to understand the production issues and advise them the solution

  • Resolve the incidents and recover services within contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements

  • Work with other member(s) of the support team and Service Delivery Manager to rectify the production issues

  • Document and track incidents and provide regular progress updates

  • Coordinate regular system maintenance and upgrade activities such as monthly maintenance, patching, hotfix testing and deployments

  • Perform impact analysis and post-installation verification test on monthly OS patches/updates and Software patches deployments

  • Update project documentation in accordance to company QMS processes

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 1 year of working experience in software application development

  • Hands-on experience with Java, PHP, Python, C#.Net, SQL/PLSQL, APIs (RESTful and SOAP) and shell scripting

  • Proficient in database management (SQL Server, MySQL and Microsoft Access), operational systems (LINUX and Windows Server), Application Servers (Apache Tomcat, WAMP and WebSphere)

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written) and strong troubleshooting abilities

  • Proven experience in application support and user query management (L1/L2)

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a commitment to a zero-defect mindset

  • Must be team player with fast learning skill

  • This position will be based in Changi Airport (standby (on duty roster basis) for any emergency)

  • 5 day week 830am- 6pm
