We’re working on a software router used by Fortune 500 companies, focused on high-speed VPN connections and enhanced security across various platforms.
About the role
This is a hands-on Software Architect role focused on the architecture of a network OS.
You’ll work directly with the engineering team to define and evolve the architecture, drive technical decisions from design through implementation, and contribute to production code.
The team has a flat structure, so this is not a purely advisory role. The architect will stay close to both the product and the codebase.

1. Unix
- Strong Unix expertise across BSD and Linux.
- Deep knowledge of routing and network stacks.
- Experience with packet filtering and tunneling.
- Familiarity with routers, firewalls, or network appliances would be useful.
- Hands-on software engineering experience.
- Experience contributing to production code.
- Golang experience in systems software or network services would be a plus.
- Familiarity with PHP would also be useful.
- Experience designing system architecture and taking it through to implementation.
- Ability to drive technical decisions from design through implementation.
- Ability to work directly with engineers in a flat team structure.
- A hands-on architecture role with direct involvement in implementation.
- Direct collaboration with the engineering team.

- Location: Remote.
- Contract type: Employment Agreement or B2B Agreement, depending on location and applicable local requirements.
