Job Responsibilities
1. Application Development
• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services using C# and .NET (.NET 8 and above, .NET Core and .NET Framework)
• Build RESTful APIs and microservices using ASP.NET Core, including background processing with Worker Services and hosted services
• Apply asynchronous programming (async/await, TPL), dependency injection, configuration and structured logging to build high-throughput, resilient services
• Experience with WPF desktop applications (XAML, MVVM) running on lane devices and workstations
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code following SOLID principles and established best practices, with unit and integration test coverage
2. SDK and Device Integration
• Integrate vendor SDKs with a wide range of hardware devices such as cameras, intercom and sensors
• Work with native C/C++ SDKs and unmanaged code to build reliable .NET integration layers (P/Invoke, C++/CLI, COM interop)
• Handle interop between managed (.NET) and unmanaged (C++) libraries efficiently, including memory management, marshalling and thread safety
3. System and API Integration
• Design, build, and consume RESTful APIs (and gRPC where applicable) for system-to-system integration
• Experience with event-driven integrations with messaging systems such as Solace PubSub+ or/and Apache Kafka using their .NET client libraries
• Proficient in MQTT, WebSocket and JMS messaging protocols
• Implement secure communication using OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, JWT and TLS/mTLS
4. Software Design and Architecture
• Participate in software architecture and design discussions
• Apply design principles and patterns (e.g. Clean Architecture, microservices, event-driven design) to build robust, scalable and maintainable systems
• Contribute to code reviews and technical documentation
5. Database Integration
• Work with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), MariaDB, and MySQL using Entity Framework Core and Dapper
• Work with non-relational databases and data stores such as Redis, MongoDB and Elasticsearch
6. Containerization and Deployment (Value-Add)
• Containerize .NET applications into optimized OCI images using multi-stage Dockerfiles or .NET SDK container publishing
• Build, run and troubleshoot container images on the containerd runtime (e.g. nerdctl, crictl), as used in K3s/RKE2 clusters
• Publish and manage images in private container registries (e.g. Harbor, Nexus), including in air-gapped environments
• Deploy and manage containerized .NET workloads on Kubernetes (K3s/RKE2) using Helm charts or manifests, with health probes, ConfigMaps and Secrets
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in software development using C# and .NET technologies.
• Experience building and packaging .NET applications as container images (Docker/containerd) and deploying them to Kubernetes is a strong value-add.
• Experience in hardware/device integration is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with rules engine development is an added advantage.
• Prior experience with code quality control practices such as code reviews and static code analysis (e.g. SonarQube).
