Software Developer, Ads Safety Enablement and Prevention
Summary
Build and maintain large-scale systems to detect and prevent abuse in Google Ads using machine learning and distributed systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Due to the scale and reach of Google Ads, abuse can cause significant user harm and substantial business losses, as well as damaging Google’s reputation. Abuse fighting is inherently complex due to its adversarial nature that requires continuous adaptation to evolving and increasingly sophisticated tactics, and the overarching constraint to protect legitimate actors.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop solutions to protect Google Ads from ever changing attacks and has significant room for growth. The work is highly visible and the potential impact both on Google Ads business and users is substantial. There are ample opportunities with cross-functional teams like Ads Quality, Advertiser Platform, Trust and Safety, GBO, and Research, and cross-product teams like YouTube, AdSpam, and Play.
