Software Developer

Salary: $105,000 per year plus superannuation

Dalegroup is a Sydney-based IT services and software development business. We build and maintain business applications for our clients and support them onsite and remotely. We are looking for a Software Developer to join our team at our Rozelle office.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, you will write and maintain code for client business applications, work directly with clients to turn their requirements into technical specifications, and see projects through to completion. This is a full time, permanent, onsite position at our Rozelle office, with regular attendance at client sites around Sydney.

What you will be doing

• Write, develop, modify and extend software and software systems, primarily in PHP, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and SQL

• Build and maintain integrations between client business applications and SAP Business One

• Interpret client specifications and technical designs, and build, maintain and modify application code to meet them

• Develop software that is secure and maintainable

• Construct technical specifications from client business requirements, and assist with project scoping

• Manage project requirements directly with the customer and be responsible for delivering projects to completion

• Test, troubleshoot and resolve software and IT faults, including issues that are not documented

• Write and maintain technical and end-user documentation, and document existing and future processes

• Manage and maintain virtualised and cloud environments

• Provide technical guidance on projects to other members of staff

• Record project progress on our ticketing platform and communicate with third party vendors

What you will need

• A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor degree or higher) in information technology, computer science or a related field, or at least five years of equivalent industry experience

• At least 3 years of commercial software development experience

• Demonstrated commercial experience developing against SAP Business One

• Demonstrated experience writing and maintaining PHP applications

• Demonstrated experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases

• Experience with version control and development tooling such as Git and GitLab

• A good working understanding of Linux, Windows and macOS

• The ability to work both in a team and independently, and to deal directly and professionally with clients onsite

• Clear written and spoken English, for client-facing work and technical documentation

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required

Well regarded, but not essential

• Experience with the SAP Business One Service Layer, DI API, SAP HANA or Microsoft SQL

• Experience with Docker and with issue trackers such as Jira

• Experience working with AI coding tools

• $105,000 per year plus superannuation

• Permanent full time role, 38 hours per week, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday

• Rozelle office, close to public transport

• Approximately two weeks of office closure over the Christmas period
