Software Developer

Summary

Build and maintain business-critical applications using C# and .NET, integrate systems via APIs, and deploy on Microsoft Azure while following software engineering best practices.

Salary: £45,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Commercial experience developing applications using C# and .NET
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing business-critical applications
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented design and testing practices
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Knowledge of API development and integration patterns
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and a desire to further develop cloud expertise
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps or similar source control tools
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Experience developing solutions in Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL and Service Bus
  • Experience modernising legacy or on-premise applications
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with Docker and containerisation technologies
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test and support software solutions using C# and .NET
  • Build and enhance applications across Microsoft Azure and on-premise environments
  • Develop and maintain APIs, integrations and supporting services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and production issues
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable and highly available
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
  • Produce technical documentation, testing artefacts and deployment procedures
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software
  • Monitor and improve system performance, resilience and reliability
  • Utilise AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding, testing, debugging and documentation activities
  • Review and validate AI-generated outputs to ensure quality, security and compliance standards are met
