Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a mid to senior level Software Developer for one of DoD clients based in San Diego. The ideal candidate will be tasked to develop custom applications to support the Security Operations Center and other analysts to enhance the security of their network.

Onsite: San Diego, California

Contract: 6-month C2H

Pay Rate: $62-$67 / $130k - $140k salary conversion

Clearance; Active Secret

Certifications: Active IAT Level II

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Coding primarily in Python and JavaScript.
  • Developing feature enhancements and addressing bugs for several different applications.
  • Convert legacy code to modern methods allowing for ease of code re-use and development.
  • Work to move from a waterfall to agile-based development model.

Certifications (IAT Level II)

One of the following:

  • CySA+
  • Security+
  • CCNA - Security
  • GICSP
  • GSEC
  • SSCP

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated proficiency in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience developing applications in Python, with a strong interest in working as part of a small, Agile development team. The selected candidate will support the enhancement of four existing applications and contribute to the design and development of one new Python-based application.

Desired Skills

  • Expertise coding in Python and JavaScript
  • Experience with React or NextJS framework
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Development and deployment experience within a containerized environment
  • Development experience in a Linux environment
