Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Software Application Developer to join their Production Configuration Services team. This is a customer-facing role supporting the configuration and delivery of Crew and Operations Management software for airline clients. The position offers strong exposure to both technical problem solving and client interaction within the aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities
Partner directly with customers to gather requirements and understand business objectives
Configure and customize Crew Planning and Operations software using Python and a proprietary rule-based language (Rave)
Translate business needs into technical solutions and clearly explain design decisions to clients
Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing expectations
Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and delivery efficiency
Develop and execute automated test cases using a test-driven development approach
This position is a hybrid role and has a yearly compensation of 80,000 CAD- 90,000CAD.

Skills and Requirements
1+ years of software development experience
At least 6 months of Python experience
1+ years working in Linux/Unix environments
Experience using version control tools (Git, GitHub, or GitLab)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Professional fluency in English (Spanish is a plus)
Must be authorized to work in Canada Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of software development experience
2+ years of Python experience
Experience working in Agile environments
Background in airline operations, crew planning, or optimization
Experience with
Relational databases and data modeling
Test-driven development tools (Gherkin, Behave, Pytest)
Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Linux system administration and shell scripting
Kubernetes, virtual machines, and enterprise integrations
Functional programming concepts
