Software Developer - Junior

Overview

We are seeking a Software Developer with strong experience in Java-based web application development, REST APIs, and modern software architecture. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable applications while collaborating across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Translate technical system specifications into functional, tested applications
  
• Develop detailed programming specifications and write/generate high-quality code
  
• Compile and maintain data-driven programs; perform unit testing
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during development and post-deployment
  
• Provide technical support during implementation, migration, and system upgrades
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC
  
• Design, code, test, debug, and document applications
  
• Participate in design walkthroughs and code reviews
  
• Provide post-implementation support and technical issue resolution
  

Core Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-client web applications
  
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Java development and Oracle/SQL databases
  
• 2+ years of experience with REST APIs / RESTful Web Services
  
• Experience with microservices architecture and scalable system design
  
• Knowledge of Internet-ready application development
  
• Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies
  
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps
  

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of security protocols (JWT, OAuth 2.0, SSL Certificates)
  
• Solid experience with Agile methodologies
  
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns
  
• Experience with relational and hierarchical databases
  
• Knowledge of query languages and data retrieval techniques
  
• Familiarity with communication protocols
  
• Clean coding practices, refactoring, and maintainability

• Understanding of AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) standards
  
• Ability to create user and system documentation
  

Oracle-Specific Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) modules (GL, AR, AP, INV, Collections)
  
• Strong programming in PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix Shell Scripting, ODI
  
• Experience with ETL processes, Data Warehousing, OBIEE
  
• Knowledge of SQL tuning and partitioning
  
• Exposure to Java & Oracle ADF
  

Must-Have Requirements
