Software Developer L2

Summary

Builds and maintains responsive, secure front-end interfaces for regulated iGaming platforms, using React/TypeScript, CI/CD, and AI tools while ensuring compliance and performance.

Derivco is looking for a Front-End Developer (Level 2) to join our Software Engineering team and help deliver reliable, well-architected, user-facing software features across our regulated iGaming environment. In this role, you'll take end-to-end ownership of feature delivery — from UI design and implementation through to testing, deployment, and post-release stability — while actively leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate your work without compromising on quality, security, or compliance.

This is a great opportunity for a developer who wants to sharpen their technical craft, deepen their understanding of AI-augmented engineering, and grow within a high-care, high-accountability engineering culture.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement front-end features end-to-end — building responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces — using CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks, delivering solutions that meet product requirements and engineering standards.
  • Translate UI/UX designs and product requirements into clean, maintainable front-end code, working closely with design and product stakeholders.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality — critically evaluating all tool-generated code for correctness, security, and compliance before it reaches production.
  • Own the full quality of your work, including unit, integration, and exploratory testing across browsers/devices, and monitor post-deployment behaviour to maintain UI stability and performance.
  • Review code submitted by teammates, providing constructive feedback (including on AI-generated solutions) to uphold team quality standards and support the growth of junior developers.
  • Investigate and resolve defects, performance issues, and system anomalies within agreed response timelines, contributing to production operational resilience.
  • Apply secure coding practices and factor in regulatory/compliance requirements when handling sensitive data, in line with iGaming regulatory obligations.
  • Contribute technical input into planning, estimation, and backlog refinement to keep delivery realistic and achievable.
  • Document technical learnings, AI solution rationale, and prompt strategies to grow the team's shared knowledge base.
  • Build understanding of the product domain, business context, and system architecture to inform sound technical decisions.

What You'll Bring

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science

Experience: 2–4 years of progressive experience in software development

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong proficiency in front-end languages and frameworks (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and a modern framework such as React, Vue, or Angular), with solid version control (Git) practices
  • Intermediate-level experience in debugging, unit testing, integration testing, and code review
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, RESTful APIs, and integrating front-end applications with back-end services
  • Understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, web accessibility standards, and UI performance optimisation
  • Growing capability with AI-assisted development tools, technical design, and agile/scrum practices
  • Developing understanding of secure coding practices, performance analysis, and the software development life cycle
  • Exposure to regulatory/compliance considerations and incident response in a regulated environment
  • A collaborative mindset, with a genuine interest in mentoring and learning from peers

Why Join Derivco?

You'll be part of a team that values technical curiosity, ownership, and a "safe-to-disagree" culture — where peer code review and collaborative problem-solving are core to how we work. You'll play a direct role in shaping the user experience and interfaces that underpin operator partnerships across Derivco's regulated iGaming platforms, all while growing your skills in modern front-end and AI-augmented engineering practices.

Closing date: 28 August 2026
