  • Experience leading developers/QA through changes in working practices and establishing new ways of working within an existing R&D organization

  • Proven ability to coach and develop developers, providing constructive feedback and supporting career growth

  • Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Devin, Cursor, or equivalent) against a production codebase, with informed judgment about their strengths, failure modes, and limits

  • Demonstrated ability to establish team-level standards, guardrails, review expectations, quality gates, and output validation for AI-assisted development, while integrating agentic AI into a formal, auditable SDLC with traceable and evidenced contributions.

  • Understanding of architecture, design, and regulatory considerations for client-server, SaaS, and hosted/cloud-based solutions

  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, operating systems (Linux/UNIX) and databases.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to convey technical issues to a broad range of stakeholders

  • Experience with quality assurance practices including code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous integration

Preferred Qualifications & Special Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

  • Experience in healthcare technology, medical devices, or other regulated industries, including quality management systems (e.g., FDA, HIPAA, ISO 13485, ISO 9001)

  • Knowledge of medical imaging technologies including PACS, RIS, DICOM, HL7, FHIR, or IHE integration standards

  • Experience with cloud technologies, distributed systems, or microservices architectures, including AWS services

  • Background in front-end and/or back-end development for enterprise software applications

  • Java background

  • Previous experience managing remote or distributed engineering teams, including coordinating offshore or vendor-augmented teams alongside internal staff

  • Professional release management practices

  • Familiarity with complex, multi-threaded client/server architectures and database-enabled applications.

  • Flexibility to participate in on-call rotation for production support of critical healthcare systems
