Working as a Software Developer, you will serve as a representative of the NIST Service Delivery Excellence Office team and will be responsible for operations, maintenance, and continual software development of CHIPS implementations on the Salesforce Platform, as well as existing and future NIST Salesforce solutions. This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates.
Working as a Software Developer for the Office of Information Systems Management (OISM), Service Delivery Excellence Office, your key responsibilities will include: Planning, designing, and managing integration and deployment processes across multiple development, test, quality assurance, UAT, and production environments. Exercises expert judgment during deployments to preserve system integrity, maximize production availability, and align with NIST business goals and security timelines. Monitoring Salesforce platform performance, proactively recommending and implementing alternative approaches or enhancements. Troubleshooting end-user issues in collaboration with contractors and internal/external partners, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal operational disruption. Authoring and maintaining comprehensive software engineering designs, source code, test plans, operations manuals, and software security plans. Ensures all Salesforce implementations strictly adhere to NIST development standards and IT Security directives. Working directly with project managers, customers, and partners to refine program requirements-specifically supporting CHIPS implementations-to drive continuous improvement and overall operability.
