Software Developer (packaging, software release lifecycle)
Role Purpose
The role holder is responsible for developing, packaging, testing and maintaining software modules and customer solutions, ensuring successful deployment through controlled release management and effective communication with stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
- Product Development. Designs, develops, implements and tests software modules and products in line with agreed timelines, budget, costs, quality and development standards. Participates in the estimation of development and product costs.
- Software Packaging. Packages software solutions, hotfixes and configuration changes provided by the customer, ensuring compliance with internal standards, deployment procedures and quality requirements.
- Testing & Validation. Performs functional, integration and regression testing in laboratory and pre-production environments to validate software quality and deployment readiness.
- Release Management. Prepares release packages, deployment instructions and rollback procedures. Coordinates software releases and communicates updates, risks and deployment plans during Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
- IT Integration. Provides integration support and ensures compatibility between software components and customer environments.
- Process Improvement. Suggests and implements proposals for process improvements within projects.
- Documentation. Produces and maintains technical and release documentation following internal standards.
- Maintenance. Provides maintenance support, troubleshooting and problem resolution for developed modules and packaged customer solutions.
- Lifecycle. Supports the software lifecycle by developing, packaging, validating and releasing new versions, updates and hotfixes based on defined requirements.
- Customer Collaboration. Works closely with customer technical teams to package, validate and deploy requested software solutions, ensuring successful implementation.
- Technical Expertise. Maintains a high level of product and solution knowledge and ensures technical skills remain up to date.
Skills
- Knowledge of software development, packaging and testing.
- Experience with Windows environments and software deployment.
- Powershelll, c++ & Python experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- English: Fluent (mandatory).
- French: Highly desirable but not mandatory.
