Software Developer - Senior
Role Summary
The Software Developer will be responsible for translating technical system specifications into fully functional, secure, and tested applications. The role involves full-stack development, system integration, troubleshooting, and supporting deployment and maintenance activities within an enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure applications
- Develop detailed technical design specifications
- Write, review, and maintain clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Build data-driven applications and backend services
- Design and implement responsive frontend components using React
- Develop RESTful APIs and micro services using Spring Boot
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Design and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Ensure applications meet quality, performance, and security standards
- Maintain automated test coverage across systems
System Support & Integration
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production
- Support system deployment, migration, and integration activities
- Assist in data conversion and implementation support
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work with cross-functional teams in Agile and hybrid delivery environments
- Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure solutions meet AODA accessibility standards
- Follow secure coding, performance, and scalability best practices.
- Support documentation of systems and technical processes
Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
Backend Development
- 8–10+ years in enterprise n-tier application development
- Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Security, Data, Batch)
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and application architecture
- Experience with Redis caching and performance optimization
Frontend Development
- Strong experience with React and/or Angular
- Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript (ES6+)
- Experience building responsive and accessible UI (AODA/WCAG awareness)
- Component-based UI development and API integration
Database & ORM
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL and SQL development
- Experience with Azure Cosmos DB
- Expertise in schema design, normalization, indexing, and query optimization
- Hands-on experience with JPA, Hibernate, or MyBatis
- Experience writing PL/pgSQL functions
Cloud (Azure)
- Experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Storage, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL
- Experience deploying and supporting cloud-native applications
- Understanding of scalability, monitoring, and cloud security
Testing & Automation
- Experience with JUnit 5, Mockito, Jest
- Experience with API testing and automation
- End-to-end testing tools (Playwright / Katalon)
- Experience with CI/CD-integrated testing and BDD practices
General Skills
- Strong experience in enterprise software development environments
