Tax Consulting South Africa is seeking a skilled and experienced Junior Developer to join our growing technology team.
We are looking for a developer with strong software engineering capability and solid experience in C# and the Microsoft technology stack. Exposure to the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate / PowerApps) would be advantageous, or a demonstrated willingness to upskill in this area. This role is suited to someone who is confident in delivering high-quality software solutions and contributing to a fast-evolving digital environment.
As a Junior Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions while helping build scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years' software development experience
- Strong experience in C# and .NET development (.NET 8 / .NET 9/.NET 10)
- Experience with ASP.NET Core, building REST APIs and Blazor WebAssembly front ends
- Experience with SQL Server and relational databases, including Entity Framework Core
- Familiarity with clean architecture, CQRS (MediatR), and the repository pattern
- Exposure to the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate / PowerApps) is advantageous; however, candidates with a willingness to learn will also be considered
- Strong understanding of software design principles and design patterns
- Experience using Git or similar version control systems
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
Advantageous:
- Experience integrating with external/third-party systems (e.g. SOAP/WCF, webhooks, e-signature services)
- Experience with scheduled/background processing (e.g. Quartz.NET)
- Experience generating typed API clients (e.g. NSwag / OpenAPI)
- Exposure to modern front-end frameworks such as React
- Experience with Python for automation, integrations, scripting, or supporting business applications
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain clean, efficient, and scalable software solutions using C# and .NET technologies
- Build and maintain web applications (Blazor), REST APIs, and backend services
- Support and enhance solutions within the Microsoft technology ecosystem
- Contribute to Power Platform (Power Automate / PowerApps) solutions where required
- Optimise applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
- Ensure solutions integrate effectively into the broader technology landscape
- Document solutions, processes, and development standards
- Apply and maintain data security and software development best practices
- Test, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve system issues efficiently
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards and practices
- Support continuous improvement and modernisation initiatives
