Software Developer / Team Lead C# .NET
Summary
Hands-on team lead role at a global financial services company rebuilding its international payments platform: leads a squad's architecture, delivery and mentoring while coding in C# .NET, AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, ECS), microservices, SQL and Vue/React/Angular, championing AI coding tools like Claude Code and Copilot. Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong experience providing technical or team leadership within a software engineering team
- Strong backend development skills with C# .NET; experience with other object-oriented languages may also be considered
- Strong system design experience, particularly with distributed systems and microservices
- Frontend experience with Vue.js, React, or modern Angular
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Production experience with AWS, ideally including SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, and Lambda
- Experience owning CI/CD and release processes, such as GitHub Actions
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar agentic tools, and a clear view of effective AI adoption
- Collaborative and pragmatic approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to explain technical decisions to engineering and business stakeholders
- Experience in payments, FX, or another regulated industry is beneficial
- Lead a squad across architecture, development, delivery, and production operations while remaining hands-on with production code and complex technical challenges
- Own system architecture, API design, technical decisions, design reviews, and code quality
- Partner with Product Managers on roadmaps, delivery plans, and priorities
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, one-to-ones, and feedback to support engineers development
- Drive continuous improvement and set standards for how the team builds, tests, and ships software
- Champion AI and agentic coding tools across the software development lifecycle and drive process improvements and modern techniques

We are a global financial services company rebuilding our international payments platform within our Corporate Payments division. This senior Software Developer / Team Lead role combines technical ownership, hands-on development, and responsibility for team growth. The position is based in Bracknell, with the option to work from home most of the time and join colleagues in our office twice a week.
