We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer III (Backend) who can design and build highly scalable systems while driving engineering excellence across teams. As a Software Development Engineer III, you will own critical backend services, influence architecture decisions, mentor engineers and lead the development of platform capabilities that power the company's next phase of growth. You will work closely with Product, Data, Frontend, and Leadership teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions serving millions of users in an early-stage startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead architecture and design of large-scale backend systems and platform services.
- Drive technical decision-making, design reviews and architecture discussions.
- Define engineering standards, best practices and coding guidelines across teams.
- Identify and resolve scalability, reliability and performance bottlenecks proactively.
- Own technical roadmaps for critical systems and services.
- Design, build, and maintain highly scalable, secure and fault-tolerant backend services.
- Optimise system performance, latency, throughput, and infrastructure efficiency.
- Lead implementation of mission-critical projects from conception to production.
- Mentor and guide SDE-I and SDE-II engineers through code reviews and technical coaching.
- Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
