The Impact you will have in this role:
The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET) role encompasses automation development and execution, functional, and non-functional testing. The SDET role specializes in the design, development, execution, and maintenance of automated tests to ensure the quality of software products. Partners with team members to understand software requirements and execute automated tests that validate the functionality while considering privacy and security requirements

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for web, API, data, and cloud-based applications.
  • Develop and execute automated functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and smoke tests.
  • Create automated validation processes for Snowflake data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and data transformation workflows.
  • Develop automation scripts using Java and/or Python and industry-standard test automation frameworks.
  • Build and maintain UI test automation using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress, or similar technologies.
  • Validate Angular-based web applications to ensure functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Develop and execute API automation tests for RESTful services and microservice-based applications.
  • Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and automation requirements.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid delivery.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance for large-scale datasets and reporting solutions.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot defects, conduct root cause analysis, and support issue resolution.
  • Maintain test documentation, test execution results, and quality metrics.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release activities.
  • Drive adoption of quality engineering best practices, shift-left testing, and automation-first approaches.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Testing roles.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.

Talents Needed for Success:

  • Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python for building scalable automation solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver (Java/Python), Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent test automation frameworks.
  • Experience developing and maintaining UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end automated tests.
  • Proficiency in testing modern web applications built using Angular or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Experience validating and testing Snowflake data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and data transformation processes.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to perform complex data validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
  • Working knowledge of AWS/Public Cloud services and cloud-native application architectures.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with Git, Bitbucket, source control management, and branching strategies.
  • Understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and automation framework design.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and quality engineering best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
