Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

ABB E-mobility is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join the Operations Test Engineering team. You will design, develop, and industrialize the test toolchain used across EV charging validation, manufacturing, and product quality processes.

The role emphasizes production-grade software for test orchestration, hardware-in-the-loop environments, and end-of-line manufacturing stations, with a focus on improving release confidence and quality across a global EV charging

Design, develop, and maintain a scalable automated test framework for end-to-end validation and manufacturing testing. Develop production-grade software for test orchestration, diagnostics, and reporting. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for PR validation and releases. Build interfaces connecting chargers, embedded controllers, PLCs, and cloud services. Create automated tests for APIs, services, firmware interfaces, and charging workflows. Define and maintain structured test data, logs, and release-evidence packages. Bachelor's or Master's in a related technical discipline. Strong software engineering experience with Python, C#, Java, or JS/TS. Proven experience designing automated test frameworks for API/integration/system testing. Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and release gates. Experience testing REST APIs, backend services, device interfaces, and cloud integrations. Understanding of manufacturing and industrial test environments and MES integration. Familiarity with lab/production equipment integration and data logging.
