As a Development Manager, you will lead multiple Agile software development teams responsible for delivering high-quality SaaS solutions. Beyond delivery, you will play a critical role in growing our engineering capability, developing teams, and strengthening our technology presence in Malaysia

This role requires someone who combines strong people leadership with solid software engineering foundations. While you are not expected to code daily, you should possess sufficient technical depth to guide engineering discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and earn the trust and respect of software and quality engineers.

Drive Delivery Excellence

• Partner closely with Product Management and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Proactively manage risks, dependencies and delivery commitments.

• Balance feature delivery, product quality and technical debt.

• Drive accountability and ownership for team outcomes.

Build Organizational Capability

• Continuously improve engineering processes, team effectiveness and ways of working.

• Support the growth and scalability of our engineering organisation in Malaysia.

• Create an environment where engineers can do their best work and grow their careers.

• Lead and grow multiple multidisciplinary software development teams

• Drive product development, sprint execution, releases, and continuous improvement

• Collaborate with stakeholders across Europe and Malaysia to deliver high-impact solutions

• Own team performance, hiring, engagement, and capability development

• Ensure software quality across development, integration, testing, and performance

• Define and implement effective engineering processes, standards, and best practices

• Contribute to technical vision, architecture decisions, and long-term strategy

• Drive innovation and ensure alignment with business and technology goals

• This role is fully based in Ipoh

This = what you bring

People Management

• Minimum 3 years' experience leading software engineering teams in a direct people management capacity.

• Proven experience managing multiple teams and/or leading engineering managers or team leads.

• Demonstrated success coaching, mentoring and developing engineers and future leaders.

• Experience managing performance, career development and complex people-related matters with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement.

• Strong ability to build trust, engagement and high-performing team cultures.

Technical Foundation

• 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex enterprise software products or SaaS solutions.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, API development, cloud platforms and modern engineering practices.

• Experience with Microsoft technologies including .NET, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server and Azure, alongside modern web application development, is highly preferred. Candidates from other enterprise technology environments with strong engineering leadership experience are also encouraged to apply.

• Ability to engage credibly with engineers, evaluate technical trade-offs and support sound technology decisions.

Delivery Leadership

• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and Scrum practices.

• Proven experience leading complex software delivery programmes and cross-functional teams.

• Ability to balance business priorities, technical excellence and team sustainability.
