Software Development Manager

Job Summary

Lead engineering teams to build, deploy, and maintain software products while managing people, projects, and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, mentor, and retain software engineers to build a high-performing team.
• Conduct performance reviews and define career growth paths to enhance team development and morale.
• Ensure adherence to industry best practices including CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, and security compliance to maintain software quality.
• Manage sprint planning, allocate resources effectively, remove blockers, and balance technical debt with feature delivery to meet project goals.
• Communicate project status, risks, and return on investment (ROI) clearly to executive stakeholders to support informed decision-making.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams or managing direct reports.
