Software Development Manager, Measurements and Data Science (MADS)
Amazon Advertising is one of the fastest-growing businesses within Amazon, empowering Sellers, Vendors, Authors, and Publishers to boost product reach and sales through performance and display advertising. The Iron Mountain platform is the singular system that manages all advertiser billing, invoicing, accounting automation, real-time budgeting, promotions, payments, and Billing Advertiser Experience (AX) — processing multi-billion transactions worth 100x in dollar value daily, worldwide, across all ad products displayed On or Off Amazon.
Billing accuracy is a critical pillar of this platform. This team owns billing corrections (credits and rebills), offline and alternative payment workflows, and the revenue-integrity mechanisms that make advertising billing transparent and auditable end to end — serving thousands of correction requests each year from partners across Ads Sales, Finance, Accounting, and FinOps. The multi-year roadmap transforms this space into self-service and intelligent automation: AI-driven investigation of billing defects, agentic correction workflows, and advertiser-facing self-service experiences.
The Iron Mountain team is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead this Bengaluru-based team. You will:
Lead, hire, and develop a team of 8+ engineers, owning their growth, delivery, and engineering excellence
Own the product and technical roadmap for billing corrections and offline payments — from high-volume manual workflows today to automated, self-service, and agentic experiences through 2027
Drive operational excellence for tier-1 billing systems where accuracy and availability directly protect advertiser trust and Amazon revenue
Shape how GenAI and AI agents interact with financial systems safely — automation with auditability, guardrails, and zero tolerance for monetary error
Partner across Finance, Accounting, FinOps, and ad-product teams worldwide to reduce correction volume at the root cause, not just process it faster
Be a player-coach: technically strong enough to hold the bar in design reviews, while spending your energy on people, roadmap, and delivery
To succeed, you will bring a track record of building strong teams and delivering large-scale distributed systems, comfort operating business-critical financial services, and a forward-looking perspective on how AI transforms financial operations — combined with people-first leadership that grows engineers as fast as it ships software.

A day in the life
As a Software Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in the development of services that keep advertising billing accurate and trustworthy at global scale. You will lead a dynamic group of passionate engineers and collaborate with peer teams across Ads, Finance, and Accounting to identify automation opportunities, design novel solutions that meet customer requirements, and build software that intelligently detects and remediates billing defects across our worldwide advertising platforms. You will be building highly available, scalable, and auditable architecture — increasingly powered by AI and agentic workflows — to execute financial corrections safely and effectively.
About the team
The Cashmere team builds software which supports the automated detection, correction, and settlement of advertiser billing, empowering humans to automate key financial operations and take themselves out of the loop as Amazon Advertising scales. We own services that model billing behaviors across ad products and marketplaces, identify and remediate defects before they reach advertisers, capture the financial and compliance constraints of our systems, and execute credits, rebills, and offline payments that serve our customers while preserving accuracy, auditability, and advertiser trust.
