Software Development Technical Manager

About the Role

Manage software engineering teams. Guide technical direction across backend services, frontend systems, and data pipelines. Bridge the gap between business goals, data infrastructure, and technical execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and guide software engineers. Conduct performance reviews and support career growth.

• Technical Oversight: Review system architecture, code quality, and design choices. Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and data-efficient.

• Project Management: Plan project timelines, assign tasks, and track milestones. Deliver software releases on time.

• Collaboration: Work with data engineering teams, product managers, and company leaders to set project goals.

• Process Improvement: Improve development workflows, testing methods, and deployment pipelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of software development experience and 2+ years in a leadership or management role.

• Backend Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of Python, Java, and the FastAPI framework.

• Systems & Frontend: Hands‑on experience or deep understanding of Rust and React.

• Data Architecture: Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing principles.

• Technical Skills: Strong background in software architecture, coding standards, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical and data concepts to non‑technical teams.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to Have

• GIS Development: Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS), spatial data handling, or mapping libraries (e.g., PostGIS, Leaflet, QGIS, or GeoPandas).
