In System Integration & Digital Enablement, we are a small team with the responsibility of continuously improving the way we deliver innovation projects. As a part of the department purpose, we develop and maintain software tools to evaluate different projects/concepts in a consistent way, identification risks/gaps and opportunities projects.
Responsibilities
We are a looking for a new "Swiss Army Knife" colleague who colleague who will primarily develop and modernize our software tools for techno-economic analysis. You will also be heavily involved in other initiatives to increase efficiency in the way we run projects such as AI implementation.
In your role, you will:
Be a part of the team responsible for maintaining and further developing the tool chain for analyzing scenarios
Apply AI and machine learning where it creates real value: surrogate and prediction models, automated scenario generation, LLM-assisted workflows, and smarter handling of our data
Be part of the team working to improve the way we work, raising our engineering standards in version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation
Be involved in our projects developing new concepts. Here you will be guiding decisions and de-risking activities
Run and interpret scenarios in our toolchain to support projects developing new concepts, guiding decisions and de-risking activities
Collaborate with the product planning team to facilitate a smooth transition from idea to product
Your work will influence which concepts become future Vestas products. The tools you develop will support decisions involving hundreds of millions of euros in future product investments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computational or Mechanical Engineering, or similar
Practical experience applying AI and machine learning
Familiarity with modern development practice (Git, testing, code review)
A interest in techno-economic analysis and the wind industry; experience from the energy sector is an advantage but not a prerequisite
Competencies
Understand and bridge both technical and commercial elements of a specific project/concept/idea
Ability to do both fast (back of a napkin) and deep well documented work
Highly skilled in problem-solving, analysis and debugging
An initiative-driven approach with eagerness to move forward
Confidence to own a tool end to end in a small team
Great communication skills, and fluency in English, both verbally and in writing
