Overview of the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer 2 with experience in building high-quality web applications on the Microsoft technology stack. You will build and maintain applications, working with a team to develop high-performing enterprise systems that help clients make strategic business decisions. Key responsibilities include maintaining coding standards, contributing to project delivery timelines, and participating in estimation discussions.

Requirements

What you’ll do

Software Design:

· Design applications based on user needs during SCRUM team discussions.

· Track projects, tasks, and bugs using the designated work tracking system.

· Understand business requirements to create user-friendly applications.

· Create new applications or enhance existing functionality.

· Collaborate with team members for optimal application solutions.

· Develop technology solutions to improve product functionality and usability.

· Ensure code quality and test coverage through TDD and peer code reviews.

· Communicate with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and customers to clarify requirements.

Product Testing:

· Ensure final product compliance with user specifications through regular reviews.

· Test code functionality and make necessary changes based on performance feedback.

· Conduct code reviews to identify bugs and enhance product quality.

Maintenance/Support:

· Analyze and address post-deployment bugs.

· Review user feedback and implement development action plans.

· Provide support to end-users of applications.

General Duties:

· Train team members on agile development practices and design principles.

· Ensure successful project/task completion and maintain technical quality of junior members.

· Write concise documentation for applications and websites.

· Initiate use of new technologies that benefit the project.

· Participate in the recruitment of new team members.

What we’re looking for

· 2+ years of development experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, focusing on Microservices (Web API) and web applications.

· Proficient in C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Angular 2, Node.js, Entity Framework (or any ORM), and SQL.

· Familiar with testing tools: MSTest, NUnit, and Jasmine for Angular.

· Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD.

· Understanding of Azure Cloud technology.

· Solid grasp of OOP principles and design patterns.

· Knowledge of Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server (TFS), and GIT.

· Experience with Agile methodologies and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
