Software Engineer (3-5 years)

Summary

Builds and scales a live AI-enabled healthcare product by owning full-stack features, APIs, and integrations, bridging customer needs with technical solutions.

Job Description

Software Engineer | Product-Focused Start-up Dublin | Onsite | Up to €80,000 plus equity Current stack: Python and React, although the team is open to engineers from other backgrounds I'm partnering with a well-funded, early-stage technology company building a genuinely useful AI-enabled product for the healthcare sector. They are beyond the idea stage. The product is live, customers are using it every day and the team is now investing in the next stage of its growth. They are looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys building products, solving customer problems and taking ownership from an initial idea through to production. The opportunity This is a product engineering role, not an AI or machine learning engineering position. You will work across the product, including backend services, customer-facing interfaces, APIs, integrations and the workflows that connect everything together. Some pieces will sit mainly in the backend, others will require changes across the full stack. The current platform is built using Python and React. Experience with either would be useful, but the team is not hiring against a rigid technology checklist. They are open to engineers coming from TypeScript, Node.js, Java, C#, Ruby or another modern stack. What matters is that you have built real products, can move comfortably across a codebase and are confident learning new technologies when needed. What you will be doing Building and shipping customer-facing product features Taking features from an early idea through design, development and production Working across backend services, APIs, integrations and frontend applications Turning complex customer problems into simple, practical product solutions Improving a live platform based on customer feedback and real usage Making sensible technical decisions around speed, quality and scalability Taking responsibility for testing, releasing and monitoring what you build Working closely with the founders, CTO and wider product team Helping shape how the engineering team works as the company grows What they are looking for Around 3 to 5 years of commercial software engineering experience Proven experience working in a start-up or fast-growing scale-up Evidence that you have built and shipped products used by real customers Strong backend or full-stack engineering experience Comfortable taking ownership beyond one narrow part of the codebase Able to work through ambiguity and changing requirements Good product judgement and an understanding of when to move quickly Willingness to speak with customers and understand the problem behind a feature The ability to learn a new language, framework or part of the stack quickly A practical, collaborative approach to building software Experience taking an early product from MVP towards a more scalable platform would be particularly relevant. You do not need an AI or machine learning background. The team needs a strong software engineer who can build the product around the technology, not someone focused on training models or conducting research. You will enjoy this role if you Prefer broad ownership over a tightly defined list of tickets Like working close to customers and seeing the impact of what you build Are comfortable making decisions without layers of approval Enjoy the pace and variety of an early-stage company Want to influence both the product and the way the engineering team develops Why consider it? Join a funded start-up with a live product and genuine customer traction Work directly with the founding team and have a clear voice in technical decisions Build important parts of the product rather than one small component Learn across backend, frontend, integrations and product development Salary of up to €85,000, depending on experience Meaningful equity How to Apply To apply for this role, submit your CV via the application form provided.
