Software Engineer
The Software Engineer is responsible for development, design, enhance, and implementation of new and existing software projects and programs, overseeing the entire software lifecycle. This role requires incumbent to be involved in liaising with the Business Analysts and Development Managers to ensure software projects meet requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs and applications.
- improving system quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard operating procedures.
- identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications.
- Writing and implementing efficient code.
- Maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer review code changes.
- Developing quality assurance procedures.
- Deploying software tools, processes and metrics.
- Maintaining and upgrading existing systems.
- Investigating and using new technologies where relevant.
- Working closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts to drive projects.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Programming and Development, and related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience with strong SQL skills and development experience using C#, C++, Javascript or Java.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies.
- Flexibility to be on standby-call or provide support outside of regular business hours when necessary.
