Software Engineer

Summary

The Software Engineer will join the Webex Engineering Group in Galway to design, develop, and maintain highly available microservices for collaboration tools. The role involves leveraging AI technologies and DevOps practices to deliver high-quality features within a hybrid work environment.

This role is based in Galway and operates under a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

  • Full Lifecycle Development: Lead technical design, development, testing, and delivery of new features and improvements.
  • DevOps & Microservices: Help lead the operational side of a highly available microservice architecture.
  • Embrace AI Technology: Leverage transformative AI technologies to accelerate team productivity and delivery of customer features.
  • Adaptable & Problem‑Solver: Tackle varied and challenging problems daily, fostering flexibility, data‑driven focus on quality, and rapid skill acquisition.
  • Ownership & Quality: Take responsibility for leading tasks from building new functionality to developing automated tests and investigating issues with high attention to detail.
  • Support & Growth: Receive dedicated mentorship and formal training from a supportive team of engineers to accelerate skill development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or higher degree in an analytical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electronic or Software Engineering).
    • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in software development.
    • Extensive architecture and programming experience with a willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
    • Ability to apply a scientific approach and creative problem‑solving to complex problems.
    • Adaptable and collaborative, thriving in diverse teams and communicating clearly and precisely.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous learning and quality results.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, C++, JavaScript.
    • Experience with data science / AI.
    • Familiarity with Git, DevOps practices, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
