Software Engineer - 6 months contract (Control System)
Summary
6-month renewable contract in Joo Koon, Singapore building and maintaining control-system software that integrates with hardware devices, databases, and third-party platforms. Day-to-day involves development in C#/C++/Java/Python, APIs, Git-based source control, testing/debugging, and onsite commissioning support. Pays S$4,000–5,000/month.
Salary: $4,000 – $5,000 per month
Working Location: West, with company transport provided at designated pick-up points.
Work Schedule: 5-day work week.
Tenure: 6-month contract, renewable depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain reliable, maintainable software applications and system components.
Integrate software with hardware devices, databases and third-party platforms to meet project requirements.
Investigate technical issues, identify root causes and implement fixes to improve system performance and reliability.
Conduct software and integration testing, resolving issues before deployment.
Manage source-code changes and collaborate on development activities.
Support system deployment and onsite commissioning when required.
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors and technology providers to resolve integration challenges and support project delivery.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
Software development experience using C#, C++, Java, Python or other programming languages.
Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software development principles.
Working knowledge of APIs, databases and Git or other version-control systems.
Experience with hardware/device integration, REST APIs, Web APIs, MQTT or SDKs would be advantageous.
Exposure to camera or image-processing systems, biometrics, access control, kiosks, embedded systems, automated gates or barriers would be an advantage.
Familiarity with Docker and Linux environments would be advantageous.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
