Software Engineer

Employment Details:

- Salary: $130K–$170K base.
- Equity: 0.6%–1.0%.

About the Role:
- Build the AI-native operating system for institutional capital.
- Develop LLM-powered systems that process hundreds of thousands of investment documents.
- Build AI agents that automate complex analyst workflows.
- Own projects end-to-end, from design and implementation to deployment and client interaction.
- Work in an AI-first engineering environment where AI assists with code generation while engineers own system design and delivery.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop backend systems and AI-powered applications.
- Build scalable LLM and agent-based systems.
- Develop full-stack features using Python and React.
- Design, deploy, and maintain production systems.
- Collaborate directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Take ownership of the complete software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 0–7 years of software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated programming experience through internships, projects, or full-time work.
- Backend software development experience.
- Experience building production software systems.

Technical Skills:
- Backend development.

- PostgreSQL.
- MongoDB.
- Experience building AI and LLM-powered applications is preferred.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a top university, or degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics with software engineering experience.

- Strong communication skills, including client-facing communication.
- Passion for working at an early-stage startup.
- Comfortable taking ownership with minimal structure.
- Willing to work on-site in Seattle five days per week.
- Comfortable with occasional late nights and weekend work during critical project periods.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience at an early-stage startup.
- Experience building AI or LLM-powered applications.
- Strong academic achievements or competitive accomplishments.
- Experience working in highly selective engineering environments.
